Project: Chip Miller Memorial Surf Contest Registration

Overview: This Summer, the 6th Annual Chip Miller Charitable Foundation Surf Fest will be taking place in Ocean City, New Jersey. This contest raises funds for awareness and educational programs for amyloidosis. Amyloidosis is a rare disease first described over 200 years ago. The disease manifests itself when amyloid proteins deposit and accumulate in the body's organs and tissue. This accumulation may happen systemically (throughout the body) or locally (in one tissue). Durkan Consulting is proud to provide an online surf registration system that allows them to manage the contests.

DCG Solution: Staff has been using this web based system for the past 4 years to manage registration for the surf fest. They can easily create divisions and associate contests to them where they specify how many heats are allowed, size of heats, etc. They can manage all facets of the system. User's link to the registration form from the chipmiller.org site and can easily register, electronically acknowledge waivers, select contests to participate in, etc.

The Surf Fest is something we are proud to be a contributor. All efforts of this foundation are done in remembrance of Chip Miller. Chip Miller passed away in 2004 from the rare disease amyloidosis. Chip was a surfing enthusiast and mentor to young surfers, as well as a renowned car-hobbyist.
